The Republican National Convention (RNC) is coming to Tampa from August 27th – 30th which means that 45,000 extra people will be in Tampa Bay and more specifically downtown at the Tampa Times Forum.  The city has already started making plans for what roads could be shut down, where everyone will be staying, what security needs to be in place and even what upgrades to the technology infrastructure of the Forum will be necessary. 

According to a poll conducted by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, 17% of businesses downtown plan on closing for the week and 41% hope to do business as usual. 38% of respondents that said they planned on “lots of telecommuting” during that time period. That sounds like a great plan but if you don’t have the right solutions in place, working remotely can greatly reduce team productivity and impact your businesses’ data and network security.
