The Office Update Inventory Tool Version 1.5 enables administrators to check one or more computers for the status of Microsoft Office 2000 and Office XP updates. Administrators can run the tool from one central location to check the status of all computers in their organizations. The tool produces a report used to determine which updates have been applied, which updates are available to be applied, and which updates can be applied only to an administrative image. The tool works in two stages. First, you run an inventory program on each client computer to produce a log. Then, you use a conversion program to transform the log data into a comprehensive report that covers all inventoried computers. Install the inventory tool on an administrative server that has access to the computers you want to assess. The inventory tool is packaged in two self-extracting executable files.

One of the best ways for any tech to know what the situation is with a particular PC or Server is to have the notes from any previous service that was done. I have located an easy to use utility I would like to start implementing on service calls where fairly complex troubleshooting takes place or any significant changes are made to the PC or network. Notebook for Windows is a lightweigt database utility similar to the old Windows cardfile program. Here is how it is going to work:
